Imprinting Hoograven Installation Video | Utrecht | 2009

Revolving the idea of imprinting, I convinced the neighbors of Het Goylaan building -which was about to be demolished-, to leave their beds unmade as they woke up in the morning, in order to sew up the folds on their bedsheets, evidencing the marks their bodies left in this space. This installation was shown at the 'Common Site, come inside' exhibiton, as part of the Urban Knowledge DARE 4. The installation piece was constituted of 5 videos screened inside the building (Hoograven, Utrecht) while the sewed up bed sheets were hanged outside. The first bed sheet that was hanged up as a tryout appeared completely burned over night. I decided to include this unforeseen event as it imprinted the place as well the project.
